Established by Managing Director, Sandra Corkin in 1984, Oasis Travel is recognized as ‘Northern Ireland’s largest independent travel agent’ employing 55 staff across 6 branches: (Lisburn, Holywood, Bangor, Belfast: Upper Newtownards Road, Lisburn Road and Howard Street) and their online Cruise Division, Cruise Beyond. With a wealth of knowledge their Travel Consultants can find the perfect holiday from an idyllic beach in the Caribbean, a family holiday to Spain, a city break to Rome or a Caribbean cruise. The Holywood, Howard Street and Lisburn branches also offer ‘Portfolio Suites’, private offices with Travel Consultants whose area of expertise is in the booking of the ultimate luxury holiday, whether it be a wedding, a honeymoon or a round the world adventure. Surviving is not an option for Oasis; it’s about excelling in an ever-changing economy. Customer needs and the increase in online retail has seen Oasis realign its strategic objectives to meet the needs of its loyal customer base. Their Vision: “To be the leading independent Travel Company in Northern Ireland” has been achieved by being awarded “NI Independent Travel Agent of the Year” nine times, an award, no other travel Company within NI has ever achieved. The journey to achieve this vision has been a challenge but Oasis has never lost sight of its Mission: “We aim to enhance the trust and loyalty of our customers and travel partners through our continued commitment to excellent personal service”. Oasis acknowledges that the delivery of excellent personal service is paramount in achieving their strategic objectives. They do not differentiate in their definition of ‘customer’ and key to success is that they ensure that all, who interact with them irrespective of client, supplier or employee, should share the same positive experience. Their service is built to reflect their Vision and Mission and all activities are focused on the delivery of service. This goes beyond personal interactions and encompasses internal procedures and practices that result in excellent personal service. Winning awards recognised by both the public and suppliers is an honour, but one of their greatest achievements was gaining Accreditation with Investors in People. Sandra is aware that her success is attributed to her highly skilled team and gaining the Accreditation demonstrates her commitment to invest, not only in their development but their future. The Strategy and associated Policies have been written to ensure staff have clear guidelines and expectations in relation to providing excellent customer service.
