Cigar Lounge and Terrace: The Wellesley’s Cigar Lounge is an intimate space and gives the feeling of a private gentleman’s club. At one end of the lounge is a climate controlled room, which is the largest hotel humidor in Europe, showcasing over £1.5 million worth of the world’s finest cigars. It is the biggest collection of cigars sold on a stick by stick basis in Europe, many of the cigars being limited edition. The Humidor was commissioned by Italian humidor experts DeArt, in conjunction with Fox Linton and features a laser cut marble inlaid map of Cuba to the floor. Outside, two private covered heated cigar terraces feature open fireplaces, screened by an artificial ‘hedge’ and covered by a close-fitting canopy. The overall experience promises a unique and intimate atmosphere and delivers on being one of the most exceptional places to enjoy a fine cigar in London. Rooms and Suites: The Wellesley bedrooms and suites are situated over seven floors, and are comprised of 19 suites and 17 rooms. All rooms are uniquely decorated with rich furnishings and sumptuous finishes. TheWellesley Penthouse Suite occupies the entire sixth and seventh floors of the hotel and comprises four bedrooms, lavish bathrooms with Hermès amenities, state-of-the-art technology, a private staircase and a terrace offering rooftop views of the neighboring Belgravia and Knightsbridge area. The superb lounge area provides beautiful views over Hyde Park and features a large table for private dinners and its own humidor. The design in the bathrooms also evokes the feel of the artdeco era with a contemporary twist. The designers took several trips to Italy to hand select the blocks and slabs of the beautiful veined Arabescato Corchia marble from the Cararra region. The bathrooms feature Hermès amenities and televisions recessed into mirrored wall.
